Diamondbacks 6, Mets 4
Ryan Roberts hit a three-run homer and Daniel Hudson threw eight strong innings as the Arizona Diamondbacks defeated the visiting New York Mets 6-4 on Saturday for their fifth straight win.
Hudson (12-8) allowed four runs - two earned - on eight hits and added a run-scoring single for his 13th RBI of the season.
J.J. Putz worked a perfect ninth for his 29th save, and second in as many games.
Mets starter Mike Pelfrey was pulled in the fifth after being hit by a Gerardo Parra line drive near his throwing elbow. X-rays were negative. Pelfrey gave up two runs on four hits in four innings for the Mets, who have lost four straight.
D.J. Carrasco (1-3) followed Pelfrey and allowed Roberts’ 16th home run, which helped Arizona maintain its two-game lead over San Francisco in the National League West.
