Phillies 5, Mariners 1

Shane Victorino had four RBIs, including the go-ahead two-run double in the seventh inning, as the visiting Philadelphia Phillies defeated Felix Hernandez and the Seattle Mariners 5-1 on Friday for their eighth victory in nine games.

The bases were loaded with two outs when Victorino sliced a breaking ball from Hernandez (7-6) just inside the left-field line. The ball bounced into the stands for a ground-rule double to score Russ Gload and Domonic Brown.

Victorino had three hits, including a two-run homer in the ninth to provide the final margin.

Michael Stutes (1-0) pitched 1 2/3 hitless innings for his first major-league win and Antonio Bastardo retired all four batters he faced before Ryan Madson worked the ninth in a non-save situation.

Seattle rookie Dustin Ackley hit his first major-league homer in the second inning. Ackley made his debut Friday.

Hernandez gave up three runs and eight hits in seven innings. He struck out five and walked two.

Jimmy Rollins went 3-for-4 and scored twice, and starter Vance Worley gave up one run and five hits in five innings for the Phillies.

The loss was Seattle’s first in five interleague games this season.
