Roy Halladay gave up one run in 6 1/3 innings and picked up his National League-leading 15th victory as the Philadelphia Phillies defeated the host Los Angeles Dodgers 5-3 on Monday.
Shane Victorino homered and scored three times while Ryan Howard and Jimmy Rollins had two RBIs apiece as Philadelphia won for the 10th time in 11 games.
Halladay (15-4) gave up nine hits and walked two before leaving with two runners on in the seventh. Antonio Bastardo entered and induced Andre Ethier to hit into an inning-ending double play.
Los Angeles pulled within 4-3 in the eighth on run-scoring singles by Aaron Miles and Juan Rivera. Victorino hit a solo shot in the ninth to push Philadelphia’s lead back to two.
Ryan Madson closed it out for his 20th save.
Howard had a run-scoring single in the first and an RBI double in the seventh. Rollins had a two-run double in the second.
Los Angeles plated a run in the fifth on Casey Blake’s infield out.
Hiroki Kuroda (7-14) gave up four runs – three earned – and nine hits in 6 1/3 innings.
