Cliff Lee homered and pitched eight shutout innings to lead the Philadelphia Phillies to a 2-1 victory over the host Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday.
Lee (12-7) homered in the seventh off Ted Lilly (7-12) and struck out 10 to help the Phillies win for the 11th time in 12 contests.
Jimmy Rollins had a run-scoring double to drive in Philadelphia’s first run.
Lee allowed four hits and two walks while winning his third consecutive start. Casey Blake had a run-scoring single with two outs in the ninth off Ryan Madson, who struck out Rod Barajas for his 21st save.
Lee’s homer to right field was his second of the season - and career.
Wilson Valdez led off the third with a single and was sacrificed to second by Lee before Rollins doubled him home.
Lilly gave up two runs and six hits in eight innings. He struck out five and walked one.
