Giants 2, Twins 1

Tim Lincecum tossed seven superb innings and Miguel Tejada had two hits and an RBI as the San Francisco Giants beat the Minnesota Twins, 2-1, Thursday.

Entering with an 0-2 record and 7.59 ERA in his last four starts, Lincecum (6-6) righted the ship en route to his first victory since May 27. The two-time Cy Young Award winner, who allowed three hits and walked two, notched his fourth double-digit strikeout performance of the season by fanning 12 Twins.

San Francisco gave Lincecum a 1-0 lead in the second as Pablo Sandoval hit a one-out single off Brian Duensing (4-7) and scored two batters later on Tejada's groundout. Cody Ross doubled the advantage in the eighth with an RBI single, which proved crucial as Michael Cuddyer ended Giants closer Brian Wilson's scoreless streak at 15 1/3 frames with an RBI double in the ninth.

Wilson got out of the inning and picked up his 21st save in 23 chances.

Of San Francisco's 21 home wins this year, 15 have been by one run and 20 by fewer than four runs.

Cuddyer went 3-for-4 and extended his hitting streak to 12 games for Minnesota, which has dropped two straight following an eight-game winning streak.
