Brewers 8, Twins 7
Nyjer Morgan drove in four, and George Kottaras capped a furious rally with a go-ahead RBI single in their four-run ninth inning as the Milwaukee Brewers earned an 8-7 victory over the host Minnesota Twins on Saturday.
Ryan Braun extended his major league-best hitting streak to 22 games for Milwaukee, which trailed 7-0 after four innings.
Morgan’s game-tying, two-run double off Matt Capps (2-4) capped the Brewers’ comeback, which ended a five-game road losing streak. The Brewers trailed 7-4 heading into the ninth. After Morgan’s double, Kottaras followed with a clutch two-out hit into right-center field.
John Axford pitched the ninth for his 21st save in 23 chances. Takashi Saito (1-1), who was activated from the disable list Friday, threw a scoreless eighth.
Michael Cuddyer and Danny Valencia each homered and combined for five RBIs for the Twins, who lost for just the second time in their last 12 home games.
