Dodgers 12, Cubs 2
Juan Uribe homered and drove in four runs to lead the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers to a 12-2 rout of the Chicago Cubs on Friday afternoon.
The Dodgers (11-10) got all the offense they would need in the third inning against Casey Coleman (1-1). Andre Ethier and Uribe started the rally with RBI singles, and after Jerry Sands drew a bases-loaded walk, A.J. Ellis drove home two more runs with a base hit. Los Angeles pitcher Chad Billingsley singled in another run to make it 6-0 and chase Coleman from the game.
Uribe and pinch hitter Marcus Thames added two-run homers in the fourth and ninth innings, respectively, to put the game out of reach. Billingsley (2-1) worked 6 1/3 innings to earn the win for the Dodgers, yielding seven hits and three walks.
Coleman lasted just 2 2/3 innings for Chicago (9-10), giving up six earned runs on six hits.
