Brewers 14, Astros 7

Ryan Braun hit a three-run home run one day after signing a huge contract extension, pitcher Yovani Gallardo added a solo homer and the Milwaukee Brewers continued their home dominance of the Houston Astros with a 14-7 victory Friday.

Carlos Gomez also homered for Milwaukee (10-9), which set season highs in runs and hits (17). The Brewers broke open the game with four runs in the sixth and three more in the seventh en route to their 25th win in the last 33 meetings against Houston at Miller Park.

The Astros (7-13) have allowed 23 runs in two losses since recording their first winning streak of the season.

Braun, who signed a five-year, $105 million contract extension Thursday, began the offensive onslaught with a three-run homer off Nelson Figueroa (0-3) in the third. Gallardo hit his ninth career homer one inning later and Milwaukee scored nine runs over the next three innings.

Gallardo (2-1) allowed four runs and eight hits in six innings. He won his fifth straight start against Houston.
