Padres 6, Astros 3
Logan Forsythe's first career RBI put the San Diego Padres ahead to stay in a 6-3 win over the visiting Houston Astros on Saturday night.
After Ryan Ludwick and Brad Hawpe drew consecutive two-out walks in the third inning against Aneury Rodriguez (0-3), Forsythe drove a 1-1 pitch into left field to help the Padres regain the lead after the Astros had tied it in the top of the inning on a solo homer by Clint Barmes.
San Diego added three runs in the eighth inning to seal the victory for starter Aaron Harang (6-2), who scattered six hits over 6 2/3 innings while striking out three and walking two.
Heath Bell gave up an RBI double to Michael Bourn in the ninth inning but still earned his 16th save.
Rodriguez worked six innings for the Astros, allowing five hits and three walks. Houston right fielder Hunter Pence extended his hitting streak to 16 games with a base hit in the first inning.
