Rangers 7, Astros 3
Josh Hamilton enjoyed his return to night games with a solo homer and C.J. Wilson pitched seven strong innings to lead the visiting Texas Rangers to a 7-3 victory over the Houston Astros on Tuesday.
Mitch Moreland added his 11th homer and Ian Kinsler belted his ninth and had three RBIs for the Rangers, who have taken three of four in the season series with their instate rivals.
Hamilton, who made headlines last week after he said his daytime struggles were a result of his blue eyes, had no such problems under the artificial light for Tuesday’s 7:05 p.m. local start. He singled in the first and sent his eighth homer of the season to deep left-center during a three-run third that put Texas on top.
Wilson (8-3) cruised from there, surrendering two runs on seven hits. The lefthander has not lost since May 20 - a span of seven starts.
Rookie Jordan Lyles (0-3) allowed five runs on 10 hits in six innings. The 20-year old is winless in six major league starts.
