Ryan Zimmerman drove in a pair of runs, including the go-ahead with an opposite-field single in the top of the ninth, in Washington’s 5-2 victory over Houston at Minute Maid Park.

Zimmerman hit his fifth home run to tie the game 2-2 in the seventh, and then singled to right field against Jordan Lyles (0-5) to drive in Roger Bernadina with one out in the ninth.

Laynce Nix then broke the game open with a bases-loaded single against reliever Wilton Lopez that plated two runs. Michael Morse added three hits, including a solo home run, his 16th, for the Nationals.

Washington starter Jason Marquis (8-4) allowed two runs and struck out nine in eight innings and earned his first victory since June 28. Drew Storen struck out the side in a scoreless ninth to pick up his 25th save in 28 attempts.
