Giants 2, Astros 1 (10)

Jeff Keppinger's single scored Mark DeRosa in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the San Francisco Giants a 2-1 victory over the Houston Astros on Saturday.

San Francisco won consecutive games for only the second time in August and remained three games behind Arizona in the National League West.

Eric Surkamp gave up one run on six hits over six innings in his major league debut as the Giants won their third game this week by a 2-1 score.

Houston's Brett Myers, who allowed seven runs in his last start, gave up one run, two hits and struck out seven in seven innings.

Carlos Lee went 3-for-3 and reached base five times for the Astros, who have lost six of their last seven games.

The Giants' last seven games and 10 of their last 12 have been decided by two runs or fewer.

Keppinger was traded from Houston to San Francisco on July 19.
