Rickie Weeks drove in the go-ahead run with a single in the sixth inning and Shaun Marcum pitched seven solid innings to lead the Milwaukee Brewers to a 2-1 victory over the host Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday.
Corey Hart doubled off Jon Garland (1-3) to start the sixth and scored on Weeks’ two-out single to left field.
Marcum (5-1) allowed one run and five hits in seven innings to win his fifth consecutive decision. He struck out four and walked one.
Kameron Loe pitched a perfect eighth and John Axford struck out two in the ninth for his ninth save.
The Brewers struck in the third when Carlos Gomez was hit by a pitch, stole second and scored on Prince Fielder’s single.
Los Angeles tied the game on Matt Kemp’s sacrifice fly in the fourth.
Gomez also made a stellar defensive play when he made a leaping catch to rob Juan Uribe of a homer in the second.
Garland gave up two runs and seven hits in six innings. He walked four and struck out one.
