Brewers 3, Giants 2

Pinch hitter Jonathan Lucroy laid down a perfect squeeze bunt to score Ryan Braun with the winning run in the bottom of the ninth, lifting the Milwaukee Brewers to a 3-2 victory over the San Francisco Giants on Saturday at Miller Park.

Braun and Prince Fielder started the bottom of the ninth with back-to-back singles against Guillermo Mota (2-2) and moved up to second and third on Casey McGehee's groundout. After an intentional walk to Yuniesky Betancourt, Lucroy pinch hit for Wil Nieves and pushed a perfect bunt to the right of the mound. By the time Mota got to it, Braun was already racing across home plate.

Carlos Gomez hit an inside-the-park home run in the first for Milwaukee. Gomez sliced a Jonathan Sanchez pitch down the first-base line, and it slipped under Cody Ross' glove as he tried to backhand it down the right-field line, scooting all the way to the outfield wall.

Gomez sped around the bases for his first inside-the-park home run and the Brewers' first since Rickie Weeks hit one against Houston's Brett Myers last Aug. 7.

Brewers starter Randy Wolf pitched into the eighth and left with a 2-0 lead, but both runners reliever Kameron Loe inherited eventually scored, tying the game. Wolf was charged with two runs (one earned) on three hits over 7 1/3 innings.

Sanchez struck out eight and allowed two runs on two hits over seven innings. He walked four.

John Axford (1-1) earned the win with a scoreless ninth. The Giants have lost four of five.

The game was delayed for about 15 minutes in the bottom of the eighth inning when home plate umpire Mark Wegner was injured.
