Brewers 6, Giants 0
Yovani Gallardo tossed eight scoreless innings to lead the surging Milwaukee Brewers to a 6-0 win over the visiting San Francisco Giants on Sunday.
Gallardo (7-2) surrendered four hits and allowed just one Giants runner to reach second base while improving to 7-0 over his last nine home starts. The 25-year-old righty has been especially stingy over the course of his winning streak, allowing just five runs in a 35-inning span to shrink his ERA from 6.10 to 3.89.
Rickie Weeks led the way offensively with three hits and a pair of RBIs, as the Brewers improved to 16-5 since halting a season-worst seven-game losing skid at the beginning of the month.
Milwaukee did most of its damage off losing pitcher Matt Cain (3-4), who was tagged for five runs - all earned - on 11 hits over six innings. Cain fell to 1-4 over his last seven starts, and the five runs are the most he has allowed in seven outings.
Ryan Braun added three hits for the Brewers, and has hit safely in 17 of his last 18 games.
