Dodgers 13, Cardinals 2
Rod Barajas hit two home runs and Clayton Kershaw pitched six shutout innings as the Los Angeles Dodgers cruised to a 13-2 victory over the host St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday.
Kershaw (16-5), a National League Cy Young Award candidate, allowed six hits, walked two and struck out eight.
The Cardinals fell 10 games behind Milwaukee in the NL Central and 10 1/2 behind Atlanta in the wild card.
Matt Kemp hit a three-run homer in the first off Kyle Lohse (11-8) and the Dodgers added four runs in the second, capped by Juan Rivera's two-run single.
Lohse allowed eight runs and eight hits in three innings.
Barajas hit a solo home run in the third and added a three-run shot in the fifth to stretch the lead to 11-0.
Aaron Miles' two-run homer in the ninth made it 13-0 before Jon Jay's two-run single in the bottom half.
