Troy Tulowitzki homered and drove in three runs as the Colorado Rockies spoiled Pittsburgh's home opener with a 7-1 victory over the Pirates on Thursday afternoon.
Esmil Rogers (1-0) went 7 1/3 strong innings in his season debut, allowing one run on four hits to spark the Rockies to their fourth straight victory. He struck out seven and walked one.
Tulowitzki homered for the third straight game and Carlos Gonzalez drove in a pair of runs to back the pitching of Rogers.
Pirates starter Paul Maholm (0-1) allowed five runs - three earned - on eight hits in 5 1/3 innings.
Tulowitzki had a sacrifice fly in the first, a solo blast in the third and an RBI double in the fifth off Maholm.
Pittsburgh, which had won consecutive road series at Chicago and St. Louis, got its only run in the first when Jose Tabata scored on Andrew McCutchen's groundout.
