Nationals 6, Diamondbacks 1
Michael Morse collected four hits and Wilson Ramos drove in three as the Washington Nationals posted their third straight win with a 6-1 road triumph over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday.
After defeating the National League-leading Philadelphia Phillies in two consecutive outings, Washington wasted little time getting the jump on Arizona in the opener of its 11-game road trip.
Morse had an RBI single and Ramos added a two-run double in the first inning to stake the Nationals to a three-run lead.
The offense was enough for Jordan Zimmermann (3-6), who allowed one run on six hits in seven innings to secure his first win in five starts.
Zach Duke (1-1) permitted four runs on 10 hits in five innings to take the loss.
