Dodgers 7, Angels 1
Vernon Wells hit a two-run homer in a three-run third inning and the Los Angeles Angels added three more in the fourth en route to a 7-1 victory over the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers and Clayton Kershaw on Saturday.
Jered Weaver (10-4) struck out eight and allowed one run on four hits in eight innings to pick up his third win in four starts. Kershaw (8-4) allowed seven runs on nine hits and struck out 10 in six innings in his first loss since April 26.
Erick Aybar, Bobby Abreu and Wells combined to go 4-for-13 with six RBIs as the Angels’ offense delivered without outfielder Torii Hunter, who is day-to-day with a hand contusion after being struck by a pitch Friday.
Angels manager Mike Scioscia recorded his 131st interleague victory, which ties Joe Torre for most all-time.
