Diamondbacks 5, Reds 4
Ryan Roberts homered twice and Kelly Johnson added a solo shot as the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks defeated the slumping Cincinnati Reds 5-4 on Tuesday.
Chris Young chipped in his fourth homer and Armando Galarraga pitched six solid innings for the Diamondbacks, who were opening a six-game road trip.
Since starting the season 5-0, the Reds have dropped eight of 12, including three straight.
Roberts got Arizona started right away with a solo homer to right off Sam LeCure (0-1) in the first. Cincinnati tied it with a run in the second and took a 3-2 lead in the third before the Diamondbacks took control.
Roberts hit his fourth homer of the season - a two-run shot - off LeCure in the fifth to give Arizona the lead again, and Young tacked on an insurance run with his solo shot in the sixth.
Galarraga (3-0) allowed three runs, four hits and struck out six.
Two relievers bridged the gap to J.J. Putz, who worked a scoreless ninth for his fourth save.
