Rangers 2, Athletics 0

Adrian Beltre delivered a two-run homer in the sixth inning and Matt Harrison pitched 7 2/3 shutout innings as the Texas Rangers defeated the Oakland A’s 2-0 Sunday afternoon for their season-high seventh straight victory.

Josh Hamilton walked with two outs before Beltre homered to left-center field on a 1-0 pitch for his 19th of the season. Beltre has 71 RBIs, 14 so far in July.

Harrison (7-7) allowed six hits, one walk and struck out seven. Oakland put runners at first and second with one out in the sixth, but Harrison struck out Josh Willingham looking and got Scott Sizemore to groundout.

The A’s, who have lost 13 of 18 since a season-high six-game win streak, were swept in a four-game series at Texas for the first time since June 22, 1986.

Neftali Feliz got the A’s 1-2-3 in the ninth for his 18th save.

Oakland starter Trevor Cahill (8-7) gave up five hits and two runs over 7 2/3 innings.

Ian Kinsler singled to lead off in the first for the Rangers, extending his hit streak to nine games.
