innings to win his third straight start. He finished one shy of the
franchise record for strikeouts in a game set by Jack Harshman in 1954.
Addison Reed pitched a perfect ninth for his fifth save.
Tampa Bay lost for just the second time in six games a day after pulling even with Baltimore atop the American League East.
Matt Moore (1-5) matched Sale for much of the day, racking up 10 strikeouts in seven innings while allowing two runs on four hits.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Chicago's Paul Konerko went 1-for-4, extending his hitting streak to 14 games but dropping his major league-leading average to .395. … Moore has not won since May 1, going 0-4 in his past five starts. ...
