Blue Jays 7, Indians 4 (12)

BLUE JAYS 7, INDIANS 4 (12): Rajai Davis ripped a two-run double to ignite a four-run 12th inning and Brett Lawrie ended Ubaldo Jimenez's no-hit bid with a two-run single in the seventh, as visiting Toronto defeated Cleveland for the second time in extra frames.

Kelly Johnson belted a solo homer in the ninth and Casey Janssen (1-0) picked up the win after tossing two hitless innings for the Blue Jays, who posted a 7-4 triumph in 16 innings on Thursday in the teams' season opener.

Edwin Encarnacion led off the 12th inning with a double and advanced to third on Lawrie's third single of the day. Davis then deposited an offering from Tony Sipp (0-1) into right center to plate both runners before scoring on Colby Rasmus' single to shallow right field.

After retiring his first 17 batters, Jimenez issued a walk to Rasmus in the sixth. Although he got away unscathed, Jimenez was not as fortunate in the seventh. After he permitted two more walks and uncorked a wild pitch to put runners in scoring position, Jimenez yielded Lawrie's single which tied the game at 2-2.

Johnson gave Toronto a 3-2 lead in the ninth inning with a deep shot over the center-field wall, but Asdrubal Cabrera answered by depositing a high fastball from Sergio Santos into the seats in right.

Jason Kipnis belted a two-run homer in the fifth inning and Travis Hafner had an RBI single in the 12th for Cleveland.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Prior to the contest, Indians manager Manny Acta announced that Jimenez would drop his appeal of his five-game suspension. Jimenez was facing the penalty from Major League Baseball after he plunked former Colorado teammate Troy Tulowitzki on the elbow during a spring-training game earlier in the week. ... According to Elias Sports Bureau, the last time that teams began a season with consecutive games of 12 or more innings was 1969. Boston played Baltimore and Kansas City and Minnesota both accomplished the feat.
