Tim Hudson pitched seven strong innings and Michael Bourn recorded three hits and scored a pair of runs as host Atlanta picked up its fourth win in the last five games.
Martin Prado added three hits and an RBI and Brian McCann hit a solo homer for the Braves.
Hudson (2-1) worked around nine hits and a pair of walks, limiting the damage to two runs by striking out three and getting 13 groundouts.
Cincinnati starter Johnny Cueto entered the game leading the majors with a 1.12 ERA but could not control Atlanta’s lineup. The Braves had grabbed a 1-0 lead on McCann’s blast in the second and rallied for four runs in the third.
Prado, Chipper Jones and Jason Heyward each had RBI hits and Dan Uggla added a sacrifice fly in the rally.
Cueto (4-1) lasted four innings and was charged with six runs - five earned - and eight hits, skyrocketing his ERA to 1.89. The right-hander struck out two and walked a pair.
Chris Heisey recorded three hits and Ryan Hanigan and Drew Stubbs each drove in a run for the Reds, who had won their past two games to pull above .500.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Bourn has hit in five straight games, going 12-for-27 with six runs scored in that span. … Atlanta closer Craig Kimbrel walked a pair of batters in the ninth. He has issued 10 walks in 14 innings. … Cincinnati slugger Joey Votto went 1-for-6 with three walks in the series after his three-homer game Sunday.
