Marlins 5, Cubs 3

Greg Dobbs drove in a pair and Hanley Ramirez stayed hot with two hits and two runs scored as host Miami completed a three-game sweep of Chicago.

Ricky Nolasco (2-0) lasted 5 1/3 innings on the mound and helped himself with an RBI single in the third for the Marlins, who jumped over .500 (7-6) for the first time this season.

Miami took advantage of a shaky Jeff Samardzija in the first inning, pushing two runs across on Logan Morrison’s RBI single and a run-scoring groundout from Giancarlo Stanton.

Chicago fought back in the next half inning, grabbing its only lead when Darwin Barney made Nolasco pay for some wildness with a bases-loaded triple.

But Samardzija (2-1), who had issued a total of one walk in his first two turns, got into trouble again in the third. Ramirez reached on a bunt single and stole second in front of Morrison, who walked on five pitches. Dobbs doubled to left, giving the Marlins the lead for good.

Samardzija ended up surrendering five walks and eight hits and was charged with all five runs in 3 2/3 innings.

Four relievers bridges the gap to Heath Bell, who worked a spotless ninth for his second save.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Thursday marked the first weekday afternoon game at Marlins Park. … Cubs RP Kerry Wood took a cortisone shot in his right shoulder earlier this week and will be evaluated again on Friday. The club hopes he is available for the weekend. … Marlins CF Emilo Bonifacio stole two bases to lift his season total to nine, tops in the majors.
