Marlins 3, Diamondbacks 2

Hanley Ramirez delivered a game-winning single with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to rally Miami.

Ramirez’s single off Brad Ziegler (0-1) scored Giancarlo Stanton from second and broke the Marlins’ six-game losing streak.

Logan Morrison hit a game-tying homer in the eighth to help Miami recover from a 2-0 deficit.

Stanton singled with one out in the ninth and moved to second on a grounder. Jose Reyes was walked intentionally before Ramirez came through with the decisive hit.

Ian Kennedy and Anibal Sanchez engaged in an excellent pitcher’s duel for most of the contest.

Willie Bloomquist and Gerardo Parra began the game with back-to-back doubles off Sanchez and Miguel Montero had a run-scoring single later in the inning as the Diamondbacks took a 2-0 lead.

Kennedy gave one run and seven hits in 6 1/3 innings. He struck out five and walked three and left after allowing a run-scoring single to Jose Reyes.

Sanchez (1-1) fanned a career-best 14 – the most in the majors this season – and retired the last 18 hitters he faced. He allowed two runs and three hits in seven innings.

Steve Cishek (2-0) pitched a scoreless ninth for Miami.
