Ricky Nolasco outdueled Matt Cain and Giancarlo Stanton homered as visiting Miami prevailed.
Nolasco (3-0) stymied the Giants over 7 1/3 innings, allowing one run and seven hits to improve to 4-0 at San Francisco’s AT&T Park.
San Francisco loaded the bases against Nolasco in the eighth and Edward Mujica entered and induced Buster Posey to hit into an inning-ending double play.
Struggling Heath Bell pitched a perfect ninth for his third save in six opportunities.
Cain (1-2) allowed two runs and six hits in eight innings.
Jose Reyes manufactured a run for Miami in the fourth when he walked, stole second, moved to third on a wild pitch and scored on a single by Hanley Ramirez.
Stanton led off the fifth with a liner inside the left-field foul pole for his second homer of the season to give Miami a 2-0 lead.
Pablo Sandoval homered in the sixth for San Francisco.
Bell had allowed 18 baserunners (10 hits, eight walks) in only 6 2/3 innings entering the contest as one of Miami’s big off-season acquisitions. He has 20 career saves against the Giants.
