Cole Hamels pitched eight strong innings and Hunter Pence crushed a three-run homer as visiting Philadelphia beat Colorado for the second consecutive contest.

Hamels (11-4) allowed one run and six hits while winning for the first time since June 19. He struck out seven and walked one.

Pence slammed a three-run homer deep into the left-field seats at Coors Field off Drew Pomeranz (1-4) in the fifth inning to stake the Phillies to a 5-0 lead.

Colorado’s lone run off Hamels came when Marco Scutaro drew a one-out walk in the sixth and scored on Carlos Gonzalez’s booming triple off the base of the left-center field fence.

Antonio Bastardo worked a flawless ninth in a non-save situation.

Carlos Ruiz had a run-scoring single in the first and Placido Polanco hit a sacrifice fly in the fourth for Philadelphia.

Pomeranz allowed five runs and five hits in five innings. He struck out five and walked two.
