Dodgers 2, Nationals 0

Chris Capuano and two relievers combined on a four-hitter as Los Angeles capped off a three-game sweep at home.

Capuano (3-0) pitched 6 2/3 innings, allowing just three hits and a pair of walks while striking out nine. Ian Desmond was the only Washington runner to advance past first base, leading off the fourth inning with a double before being stranded on third.

Josh Lindblom struck out two over 1 1/3 innings to set the stage for Kenley Jansen, who worked around a pair of walks in the ninth for his second save of the series.

After five and a half innings of scoreless baseball, the Dodgers finally broke through against Gio Gonzalez (2-1) in the sixth, taking a 2-0 lead on James Loney’s one-out bases-loaded single.

Gonzalez was solid in defeat, striking out seven while allowing just three hits. He did walk five batters, however, including three in a row before Loney’s decisive base hit.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Washington rookie Bryce Harper collected a hit for the second straight game since being called up to the majors, singling in the seventh inning and walking with two out in the ninth ... Dodgers CF Matt Kemp (0-for-3) was held without a hit for just the third time this year, dropping his batting average to .425 ... Washington’s four straight losses have come by a total of five runs.
