Indians 4, Angels 0

Derek Lowe pitched 7 2/3 solid innings and Cleveland took advantage of a critical sixth-inning error to take the rubber match in a three-game series.

Lowe (4-1) scattered three hits while striking out one and walking two. He threw 107 pitches before giving way to Vinnie Pestano for the final out of the eighth, and Chris Perez closed it out with a perfect ninth.

The Indians broke a scoreless tie with two out in the bottom of the sixth inning when Angels center fielder Torii Hunter lost Asdrubal Cabrera’s fly ball in the sun. The miscue allowed Aaron Cunningham and Michael Brantley to score.

Another Los Angeles misplay led to a third run in the eighth inning - and a Shelley Duncan sacrifice fly completed the scoring.

Ervin Santana (0-5) was the hard-luck loser, yielding just the two earned runs in seven innings of work. He allowed seven hits and a pair of walks.
