Giants 4, Athletics 0
Ryan Vogelsong allowed just one
hit over seven innings and Angel Pagan ripped a two-run single to
highlight a four-run seventh as San Francisco continued its home
dominance over its Bay Area rival.
Buster Posey had an RBI double and Pagan extended his hitting streak to
10 games for the Giants, who have won their last 11 home meetings with
Oakland dating back to 2009. San Francisco has won
three in a row and six of its last eight while
Oakland fell for the fourth time in five outings.

one-out single to Seth Smith in the fifth inning. Vogelsong
rebounded to handcuff the Athletics for the rest of his outing and
finished with five strikeouts.
The Giants finally broke through in the seventh as Emmanuel Burriss led
off with a single and moved to second after Vogelsong was hit by a
pitch. A's starter Tyson Ross (2-4) was replaced by Grant Balfour, who
promptly walked Gregor Blanco to load the bases. Two
batters later, Melky Cabrera lifted a sacrifice fly to right center to
plate Burriss.
Posey followed with a ground-rule double and Pagan doubled the advantage
with a two-run single to center to give San Francisco a 4-0 lead.
Javier Lopez preserved the lead by striking out two in the eighth and Clay Hensley recorded the final three outs.
Ross deserved a better fate after handcuffing the Giants through six
innings before running into trouble in the seventh. He was charged with
two runs on seven hits while walking four and striking out four.

a sizzling .366 batting average in interleague play, went
0-for-3 on Saturday and is hitless in seven at-bats in the set.
