White Sox 3, Orioles 2
Adam Dunn hit a solo home run with one out in the ninth inning as host Chicago won the three-game series with Baltimore.
Addison Reed (4-1) worked a perfect ninth inning before Dunn delivered an opposite-field shot to left on a 3-2 pitch against Tommy Hunter (3-2) for his 429th career homer, tying him with teammate Paul Konerko for 44th on the all-time list. Dunn, whose error in the eighth helped Baltimore tie the game, had two RBIs.
Jose Quintana allowed two hits and struck out a career-high 11 in seven shutout innings while recording his seventh straight no-decision. He retired the last 13 batters while striking out the side in the fourth and sixth innings. Quintana permitted just a bunt single to Manny Machado in the first and Nick Markakis' single in the third.
Baltimore, which had won five of its six previous games, tied the contest in the eighth inning against reliever Nate Jones. Dunn's fielding error at first base on pinch hitter Matt Wieter's grounder and Markakis' ensuing sacrifice fly accounted for the damage.
The White Sox broke a scoreless tie when Alexei Ramirez led off the sixth inning with a double down the left-field line and scored on Alex Rios' single to center field, just ahead of Adam Jones' throw. Rios came home two batters later on Dunn's one-out single through a drawn-in infield to left.
