Scott Feldman allowed one run in five innings and J.J. Hardy was 3-for-4 with a home run as host Baltimore took the rubber game of a three-game series.

Nick Markakis and Nate McLouth also homered and Adam Jones, Brian Roberts and Chris Davis each had run-scoring singles. Manny Machado chipped in a pair of sacrifice flies for the Orioles, who moved within two games of Oakland in the race for the second wild card spot in the American League.

Feldman (11-9) yielded just three hits and recorded six strikeouts but walked four and hit a batter. He got a double play and a strikeout of Brandon Moss on his 102nd and final pitch to wiggle out of trouble in the fifth before four relievers helped Baltimore complete a 5-4 homestand.

Athletics rookie Sonny Gray (1-2) gave up a season-high six runs and eight hits in 3 1/3 frames. Alberto Callaspo singled in Coco Crisp in the top of the first to give Gray a short-lived lead and Josh Donaldson clubbed a two-run shot in the eighth for the A's.

Jones drove in Machado with a base hit and Matt Wieters lifted one of the Orioles' season-high three sacrifice flies in the first. Roberts and Davis had RBI singles around Machado's first sacrifice fly in the second, Hardy's homer in the sixth made it 7-1 and Markakis and McLouth went deep in the eighth to cap the scoring.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Athletics LF Yoenis Cespedes was given the day off after going 0-for-8 with five strikeouts in the first two games of the series. RF Josh Reddick re-injured his left wrist during an at-bat in the seventh and left the game. ... Baltimore won the season series (5-2) for the first time since 1998. Oakland is 84-44 against the Orioles since the start of the 1999 season. ... The A's stay on the road and open a four-game series at Detroit on Monday. The Orioles head to Boston to begin a three-game set Tuesday.
