Rockies 3, Diamondbacks 1

Troy Tulowitzki hit a two-run homer and Jhoulys Chacin pitched 6 1/3 shutout innings before leaving with left oblique stiffness as host Colorado won its seventh straight game.

Chacin (3-0), who missed a start in spring training because of back spasms, allowed three hits and also delivered a sacrifice fly. Chacin pitched into the seventh inning for the third time in 2013 after doing it twice in 14 starts last season before being shut down with a pectoral muscle injury.

Ian Kennedy (1-2) allowed three runs and three hits while striking out six in six innings for Arizona. Rookie Didi Gregorius had two hits for the second straight game after recording a pair in his season debut Thursday at Yankee Stadium.

Tulowitzki put the Rockies on top 2-0 when he hit a first-pitch fastball over the left field wall with two outs in the fourth inning. After Chris Nelson tripled to lead off the fifth, Chacin battled through an eight-pitch at-bat before lifting a sacrifice fly to center field to give Colorado a 3-0 lead.

Wilton Lopez relieved Chacin and struck out Cody Ross and A.J. Pollock to end the seventh inning, while Rex Brothers pitched a scoreless eighth. Rafael Betancourt allowed an unearned run in the ninth to earn his sixth save in as many chances as the Rockies improved to 7-0 at home.
