White Sox 4, Astros 3

Jordan Danks had three hits, including a two-run go-ahead single to cap a three-run eighth inning, as host Chicago rallied for its ninth victory in 11 games.

Danks delivered a line drive up the middle with two outs against Erik Bedard (3-10) to lift the White Sox to their second victory in six meetings with Houston this season. Donnie Veal (2-3) recorded the final out of the eighth inning and Addison Reed pitched the ninth for his 36th save in 41 chances.

Avisail Garcia and Paul Konerko drove in the other runs for Chicago, with Konerko's RBI single preceding Danks' hit in the eighth inning. Jose Quintana allowed three runs and eight hits while striking out eight in 7 2/3 innings in recording his major league-leading 16th no-decision.

Rookie Paul Clemens allowed one run and four hits in six innings in his first major-league start while Matt Dominguez had three hits and drove in a pair of runs for the Astros. Houston's Robbie Grossman extended his hitting streak to a major league-best 14 games with three hits.

Dominguez hit an RBI double off the end of the bat to short right field with two outs in the fourth inning and put the Astros ahead 2-1 in the sixth with a two-out single. Chris Carter's two-out RBI single in the eighth inning gave Houston a 3-1 lead.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Danks is 6-for-8 over his last four games and 14 for his last 32. ... The Astros have the worst record in baseball (44-87), but are 7-7 in their last 14 games. ... Clemens was touched for eight runs (seven earned) and six hits in five innings of his final Triple-A start with Oklahoma City on Thursday in preparation for Tuesday.
