Mike Zunino hit the go-ahead home run in the fifth inning and Aaron Harang worked seven strong frames as host Seattle extended its season-best winning streak to seven games.
Zunino clubbed an 0-2 pitch well over the left-field fence to start the fifth as the Mariners continued their recent strong play. Bench coach Robby Thompson served as manager after Eric Wedge was transported to the hospital during batting practice due to dizziness.
Harang (5-8) gave up one run and four hits in the opener of a seven-game homestand. Charlie Furbush worked a hitless eighth and Tom Wilhelmsen allowed two baserunners in the ninth before retiring Lonnie Chisenhall on a flyout to right for his 22nd save in 27 opportunities.
Cleveland took a 1-0 lead two batters into the game as Nick Swisher drilled a shot to left-center field for his 10th blast of the season. Seattle tied the contest in the fourth, when Kendrys Morales homered just inside the right-field foul pole against Ubaldo Jimenez.
Jimenez (7-5) allowed two runs and five hits over 5 2/3 innings for his first loss since June 7.
