Ubaldo Jimenez took a no-hitter into the sixth inning while Nick Swisher homered and drove in two runs as Cleveland snapped a five-game losing streak in Oakland.

Asdrubal Cabrera and Jason Kipnis also knocked in a pair and Michael Bourn added a solo home run for the Indians. Cleveland moved within 3 1/2 games of the Athletics for the second wild-card spot in the American League while remaining six behind Detroit in the Central.

Jimenez (9-7) didn't allow a hit until Josh Donaldson delivered an RBI single with two outs in the sixth inning to end Jimenez's night after 105 pitches. The right-hander walked five, hit a batter and struck out eight.

Dan Straily (6-7) yielded three runs, six hits and four walks while striking out seven in 5 2/3 innings in losing his fifth straight decision as Oakland fell 1 1/2 games behind Texas in the AL West. The Athletics finished with three hits and struck out 11 times.

Swisher delivered a solo shot in the first before Cabrera stroked an RBI single four batters later. The Indians took a 3-0 lead in the sixth inning when Michael Brantley and Cabrera hit back-to-back one-out doubles and reclaimed a three-run advantage on Bourn's blast in the seventh before adding three in the ninth.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
The Indians improved to 15-9 in Jimenez's starts this season. He is 2-3 with a 2.12 ERA in five starts since the All-Star break. ... Athletics CF Coco Crisp, who missed the previous three games because of a left wrist injury, popped out in a pinch-hitting role with runners on first and third and two outs in the eighth inning. ... Oakland SS Eric Sogard put on a defensive clinic while recording three putouts in the eighth. After catching Carlos Santana's line drive with a full-extension dive, Sogard ran down Brantley's pop fly toward the left-field line before taking a hit away from Cabrera with a leaping catch.
