Rockies 5, Reds 4
Troy Tulowitzki hit a two-run homer in the eighth inning as visiting Colorado snapped a six-game losing streak against Cincinnati.
The Reds had taken a 4-3 lead in the seventh inning when Rockies reliever Edgmer Escalona faked a pick-off throw to third without taking his foot off the rubber. Major League Baseball changed the rule this season, requiring the pitcher to throw to third base unless he takes his foot off the rubber.
Jonathan Herrera had three hits and his two-run double came in Colorado's three-run second inning while Josh Outman (2-0) struck out Joey Votto and Jay Bruce to end the seventh. Rex Brothers worked a perfect ninth to earn his second save - and first since closer Rafael Betancourt went on the disabled list.
Tulowitzki's 13th home run - a line drive into the first row against reliever Sam LeCure (1-1) after Carlos Gonzalez walked with two outs - was upheld after a brief video review and gave the Rockies their fourth victory in 11 games. Dexter Fowler added an RBI single for Colorado.
Cincinnati's Ryan Hanigan drove in two runs, including an RBI double to tie the game 3-3 in the fourth. Todd Frazier also had a run-scoring double for the Reds, who had won eight of their previous nine home games.
