Todd Helton delivered a pair of three-run homers and moved within one hit of 2,500 while Jorge De La Rosa won his fifth straight start as host Colorado banged out 19 hits.
Charlie Culberson added a two-run double in a five-run fourth inning while De La Rosa (15-6) improved to 9-1 in 13 home starts after allowing three runs and eight hits in six innings. Wilin Rosario matched a career high with four hits and Troy Tulowitzki contributed three for the Rockies, who have won five of their last seven games.
Ryan Hanigan hit a pair of RBI singles and Ryan Ludwick homered for the Reds, who are 3 1/2 games behind National League Central co-leaders St. Louis and Pittsburgh and six ahead of Arizona for the final wild-card spot. Brandon Phillips added a two-run single in the ninth for Cincinnati, which has lost five of its last seven.
Helton's first homer followed singles by Tulowitzki and Rosario, and gave the Rockies a 4-2 lead in the fourth inning. The 40-year-old's second blast - the 365th of his career - also came after Tulowitzki and Rosario singled, this time in the seventh as he matched a career high with six RBIs.
Cincinnati's Bronson Arroyo (13-10) had his four-start winning streak snapped after giving up six runs and nine hits in 3 1/3 innings - his shortest outing of the season. Arroyo, who issued one walk - his first in five starts, defeated Colorado 3-0 on June 3 as he allowed four hits in eight frames.
