Reds 4, Dodgers 3 (10)
Todd Frazier slapped a run-scoring single to right field in the 10th inning to score pinch runner Billy Hamilton and give Cincinnati a dramatic victory over visiting Los Angeles.
Ryan Ludwick drew a leadoff walk against Brian Wilson (1-1) and was replaced by Hamilton, who promptly stole second to become the first player since 1921 with thefts in his first four major-league games. Frazier slapped his hit through the right side and the speedy Hamilton easily beat the off-line throw from Dodgers right fielder Yasiel Puig as the Reds moved within 1 1/2 games of first-place St. Louis in the National League Central.
Puig hit a two-run homer off Mat Latos in the second to give Los Angeles a 3-2 lead. The advantage held up until Shin-Soo Choo singled and scored when Cesar Izturis laced a double into the left-field corner in the seventh.
Hanley Ramirez stroked an RBI single in the first inning for the Dodgers before Cincinnati put together four consecutive singles in the bottom of the frame, taking a 2-1 lead on RBIs from Jay Bruce and Ludwick.
Los Angeles starter Zack Greinke struck out nine in six innings while giving up two runs and eight hits. Latos allowed three runs and nine hits in seven innings and J.J. Hoover (4-5) pitched a scoreless 10th to pick up the win.
