Marlins 3, Rockies 1

Rookie Tom Koehler pitched seven strong innings while 31-year-old rookie Ed Lucas homered and scored twice to help visiting Miami snap a 37-inning scoreless streak.

Giancarlo Stanton added an RBI double for the Marlins, who halted a four-game losing streak. Koehler (2-5) yielded one run and eight hits while striking out seven to win his second straight decision and Steve Cishek struck out two in a perfect ninth inning for his 18th save in 20 chances.

Troy Tulowitzki hit a solo home run and DJ LeMahieu matched a season high with three hits for the Rockies, who fell to 2-8 on Mondays. Drew Pomeranz (0-4) yielded three runs, five hits and four walks in 4 1/3 innings in losing for the fourth time in four appearances this season.

Miami wasted no time taking advantage of spacious Coors Field in the first inning when Lucas singled with one out and scored on Stanton's double which rolled to the wall in right-center. Placido Polanco added a sacrifice fly two batters later and Lucas delivered his second career homer in the third to make it 3-0.

The Rockies had at least one hit in each of the first six innings, but Koehler consistently worked out of trouble. After Tulowitzki led off the fourth by crushing a 3-0 pitch over the center-field wall for his 17th home run, Michael Cuddyer doubled but was stranded.
