Rockies 4, Marlins 3
Ryan Wheeler and Nolan Arenado each recorded two hits, an RBI and a run scored as visiting Colorado took the rubber match of the three-game series.
Jorge De La Rosa (14-6) allowed three runs on five hits in five innings to notch his fourth straight win and Rex Brothers worked around a pair of walks in the ninth to pick up his 13th save as the Rockies won for the third time in nine games.
Justin Ruggiano homered and drove in a pair of runs for the Marlins, who have dropped five of six. Jacob Turner (3-5) was charged with four runs (three earned) on six hits in 5 2/3 innings as his winless streak reached eight starts.
Colorado took advantage of some control issues by Turner in the second, when Michael Cuddyer led off with a walk and Arenado singled before a wild pitch moved the runners up. Wheeler followed with an RBI single and Arenado scored on an error before Jonathan Herrera’s sacrifice fly capped the three-run outburst.
Ruggiano got Miami on the board with a solo home run in the third and forged a tie when his RBI single plated Logan Morrison in a two-run fourth. Cuddyer reached with a two-out single in the sixth in front of Arenado, who drove an 0-1 breaking ball from Turner down the line in left field to plate the go-ahead run.
