Rangers 2, Angels 1

Adrian Beltre homered to lead off the ninth inning as host Texas recorded its third straight walk-off victory to complete a three-game sweep of sputtering Los Angeles.

Beltre continued his torrid streak against the Angels by belting a 2-2 fastball from Michael Kohn (1-1) over the wall in left field for his 23rd homer. Beltre, who went 2-for-4, finished 7-for-13 in the series and is 11-for-25 in his last six games versus Los Angeles.

Nelson Cruz smashed his team-leading 25th homer and Elvis Andrus extended his hitting streak to 13 games for Texas. Joe Nathan (3-1) struck out a pair in the ninth to pick up the win for the Rangers, who have won seven of nine against the Angels and moved within four games of American League West-leading Oakland.

Former Texas star Josh Hamilton launched a mammoth solo shot in the seventh inning for the Angels, who have dropped six in a row for the first time since June 4-10, 2011.

After the teams combined for 25 runs and 35 hits on Tuesday, offense proved hard to come by in the series finale. Cruz belted a 2-2 slider from starter Jerome Williams over the wall in left field in the second before Hamilton crushed a first-pitch fastball from Martin Perez to center for his 16th blast.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Williams saw his winless streak reach nine appearances after he allowed one run on eight hits in 7 2/3 innings. ... Perez also settled for a no-decision despite yielding one run on four hits in 7 1/3 frames. ... Los Angeles CF Mike Trout went 0-for-3 after entering the contest having reached base in all 10 plate appearances in the series (six hits, four walks).
