Angels 7, Blue Jays 3

Jered Weaver pitched into the eighth inning to win his third straight decision and rookie Kole Calhoun homered for the second straight game as Los Angeles defeated visiting Toronto for the third night in a row.

Calhoun, whose first career homer gave the Angels a 7-5 victory Friday, delivered a solo shot leading off the fourth inning to put Los Angeles on top 4-1. Howie Kendrick had three hits and an RBI, while Mark Trumbo, Erick Aybar and Chris Nelson also drove in runs for the Angels.

Weaver (6-5) allowed three runs and seven hits en route to his fifth win in seven starts. Brett Lawrie homered in the third to end Weaver's home consecutive scoreless innings streak at 26 1/3.

Esmil Rogers (3-6) allowed seven runs (five earned) and 10 hits in five innings as the Blue Jays fell to 5-11 since the All-Star break. Edwin Encarnacion and J.P. Arencibia also drove in runs for Toronto.

After Calhoun's home run, Mike Trout was hit by a pitch and Josh Hamilton singled to right. Kendrick followed with a single up the middle to score Trout and catcher Arencibia's bid to erase Kendrick at second following the throw home sailed into right-center field, allowing Hamilton and Kendrick to score and make it 7-1.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Trout has reached base in 34 consecutive games. ... Nolan Ryan set the Angels' record when he recorded 33 consecutive scoreless innings in 1972. ... The Angels were outhit 10-8 and improved to 9-43 in such games this season.
