Rookie Grant Green doubled his RBI total with a three-run double in the seventh and Jered Weaver scattered three hits over six innings as visiting Los Angeles won the opener of the three-game interleague series

Kole Calhoun homered among his two hits and J.B. Shuck added an RBI single to cap a four-run seventh inning for the Angels, who have won six of their last seven contests.

With Los Angeles nursing a 1-0 advantage, Green broke open the game in the seventh inning by ripping a bases-clearing double just inside the left-field line. Green didn't wait on second base for long as Shuck promptly drove him home by smacking a line drive to center field.

After allowing one run on three hits over eight innings in his last start, Weaver (9-7) recorded his second straight win in convincing fashion. The 30-year-old struck out three before a pair of relievers preserved the victory.

Calhoun snapped a scoreless tie with one out in the fourth inning by drilling a first-pitch fastball from Wily Peralta (8-14) over the wall in right field. The blast was Calhoun's fifth of the season and second in five contests.
