Angels 6, Rangers 5

Mark Trumbo capped a five-run fourth inning with a three-run homer as host Los Angeles posted a rare victory over division-rival Texas.

Mike Trout recorded three hits and an RBI while Erick Aybar went 2-for-4 and scored twice for the Angels, who snapped a seven-game losing streak against the Rangers and improved to 3-10 in the season series.

Alex Rios homered and drove in two runs while Elvis Andrus did the same in his return from a back injury for Texas, which fell one-half game behind first-place Oakland in the American League West.

The Rangers jumped out to a 3-0 lead before the Angels rallied in the fourth against Matt Garza (9-4). Trout and Kole Calhoun delivered RBI singles before Trumbo swatted his team-leading 30th home run to left-center field, putting Los Angeles ahead for good.

C.J. Wilson (15-6) yielded four runs and seven hits over 6 2/3 innings in recording his seventh straight victory and first in three career decisions against his former team. The left-hander, who has not lost since July 5 against Boston, improved to 11-1 over his last 16 starts. Ernesto Frieri allowed a run in the ninth before notching his 31st save.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Andrus was back in the lineup after missing four games with tightness in his lower back. ... Calhoun has driven in at least one run in eight of his last nine contests and has 12 RBIs in his last 12 games. ... Garza surrendered six runs - five earned - and nine hits in seven innings.
