Kyle Lohse continued his torrid stretch with eight strong innings while Norichika Aoki and Logan Schafer drove in two runs apiece as visiting Milwaukee made it two straight victories over Washington.
Lohse (4-6) allowed one run, four hits and struck out seven to improve to 3-0 with a 1.72 ERA in his last six starts. Francisco Rodriguez retired Anthony Rendon on a deep fly ball with two aboard in the ninth inning for his seventh save in seven chances as Milwaukee improved to 6-18 in the third game of a series this season.
Rendon hit his second career homer for the Nationals, who have scored once in their last two games after totaling 23 in their previous two contests. Ross Detwiler (2-7) yielded four runs (two earned) and eight hits in six innings to fall to 0-4 in his last six outings.
Sean Halton began the Milwaukee fifth inning with a double to deep center and advanced to third on Schafer's bunt single. After Lohse sacrificed Schafer to second, Aoki delivered a two-run single to center for the second of his three hits.
The Brewers made it 4-0 in the sixth inning when Aramis Ramirez led off and reached when Bryce Harper dropped his fly ball and Jonathan Lucroy followed with a single. Three batters later, Schafer laced a 1-2 fastball into the right-center gap for a two-run triple.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Lohse and Detwiler last met in Game 4 of the 2012 National League Division Series. Neither received a decision after Jayson Werth's walk-off home run gave Washington a 2-1 victory. ... Harper is hitless in 11 at-bats since homering in his first at-bat Monday - his first game since May 26. ... Milwaukee was poised to take a 5-1 lead in the eighth inning when Halton hit a would-be sacrifice fly to the warning track in center. Rickie Weeks took off hard from first thinking there were two outs and was easily doubled up to end the inning. Ramirez could have scored from third before Weeks was thrown out at first, but jogged slowly toward home and did not reach the plate nearly in time.
