Brewers 10, Mariners 0

Scott Gennett hit a three-run homer and Tom Gorzelanny tossed seven superb innings as Milwaukee racked up 16 hits and defeated host Seattle, which honored Ken Griffey Jr. prior to the game.

Gennett’s blast off Hisashi Iwakuma (10-6) capped a six-run seventh inning as the Brewers won for the fourth time in five contests. Jonathan Lucroy went 4-for-5 with an RBI for Milwaukee, which scored 10 runs for the second straight game.

Gorzelanny (3-4) struck out seven while allowing three hits and two walks in winning his second consecutive decision. The Mariners have lost 11 of their last 16 games.

The contest was scoreless until Milwaukee’s seventh-inning uprising, with Carlos Gomez scoring on Khris Davis’ fielder’s choice for the first run. Juan Francisco recorded a run-scoring double and Yuniesky Betancourt delivered an RBI single to make it 3-0 before Gennett hit a shot to right field that caromed off the glove of a leaping Michael Morse and over the fence.

The Brewers added four in the ninth on Lucroy’s single, Gomez’s double, Caleb Gindl’s base hit and Davis’ sacrifice fly.
