Phillies 6, Giants 2

Cliff Lee worked eight strong innings and Domonic Brown homered as visiting Philadelphia snapped San Francisco’s six-game winning streak.

Lee (3-2) gave up two runs on five hits while striking out six with no walks and improved to 5-0 in six career starts against the Giants. Michael Young had three hits for the Phillies, who bounced back from a 14-2 loss Sunday against the Miami Marlins.

The Phillies grabbed a 3-0 lead in the second when Young doubled in two runs and Chase Utley scored on a wild pitch by Madison Bumgarner (3-1), who allowed five runs while striking out seven over six innings.

The Giants got on the board in the third on Hunter Pence’s team-leading sixth homer, a solo shot to left field. Pence had three of the Giants’ five hits and is 10-for-20 with two homers, four doubles and six RBIs in six games since May 1.

Bumgarner, who had allowed seven runs in his first six starts, fell behind 5-1 in the fifth when Young scored on Delmon Young’s sacrifice fly and Brown followed with a solo blast that landed in the water in McCovey Cove.

Halladay will be examined by Dr. Neal ElAttrache on Tuesday. ....
