Carlos Quentin hit one of his team's four homers and drove in three runs as San Diego snapped its four-game losing streak with a rout of visiting San Francisco.

Chris Denorfia, Nick Hundley and Will Venable also homered for San Diego, which won for the fourth time in its last 22 games. Eric Stults (8-7) threw six innings of one-run ball while striking out five on 103 pitches.

Marco Scutaro singled in a run in the first to give the Giants an early lead before the Padres pulled even on Denorfia’s solo blast in the bottom half against Barry Zito (4-7), who yielded four runs over two innings. Hundley and Venable hit back-to-back solo homers in the second to give San Diego a 3-1 lead.

The Padres, who were outscored 23-3 in the first three games of the series, extended their lead with four runs on four hits in the third. Jesus Guzman added an RBI single in the fourth before Quentin launched a two-run homer off George Kontos in the fifth.

Scutaro had two hits and Zito fell to 0-6 in eight road starts for the Giants, who have lost nine of their last 13 games and stand 6 1/2 games behind first-place Arizona in the National League West.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Padres have won each of Stults’ last eight home starts since April 27. … San Diego rookie 2B Jedd Gyorko went 0-for-5 and is hitless in 11 at-bats since coming off the disabled list Friday. … Padres LHP Colt Hynes threw a scoreless ninth inning in his major league debut.
